What is the opposite of -2?

My math begins to spew.

And I start to think,

“What does it mean for a number to be -?”

If 1 is the great hero and 2 is his companion,

Then what is -1? And what is -2?

Could it be that – is the opposite of good?

What does – do?

Is + good and – bad?

Oh what is the opposite of -2?

Tourney season has already started, but I haven’t been to one tournament. But I am leaving for one on Wednesday!

Well, just a few random facts about me in the current system.

2011 was a very strange year. It flew by super fast and I can hardly remember it! Well, first there was the tournament season….

My favorite of the tourneys (besides Nats) Was Abilene. It was super exciting! I seriously don’t remember much, except that it was really fun meeting a lot of new people.

Though tournaments were fun, I find that if I were to write about all of them, I would make myself sad at how much I have forgotten. So I will move onto what I remember!

We went to MT for the summer, as usual. It was SO pretty this year! While TX was having a drought, we were having floods! Everything was the greenest I had ever seen it! In fact, floods like these only happen every 60 years or so. I took pottery and knitting classes with my sister and that was lots of fun! In general I went swimming in the melted snow, walked bare-foot on top of a mountain, tried not to burn my skin, mowed the lawn, planted flowers, got a cat, watched LOTR and just over all HAD FUN!

When I got back from MT, it was time for school and speech to start back up. So thats what I have been doing. This Christmas we stayed home from MT. But it was fun. Rachel just left to go back to school, Justin is going back to San Antonio and I have classes tomorrow. The year was a great one! I learned a ton!

2011 was a year I wont forget, because it was a year where I couldn’t remember. We remodeled our room and we finished right before Jan 1, 2012. So it was kinda neat.

Well, those are my thoughts on 2011. A lot of sad things happened. But it was a year I learned the most from. So happy new year! Have a wonderful 2012!

But what caught me in the middle was not what the author intended to point out. It was a list of what Tim Tebow could do. (Now, most of you may know that Tebow is a really profound Christian, and is not silent about his faith. He is also a really good football player.) So in the middle of this article was a description of what Tebow does do “He doesn’t get mad at people, he doesn’t slam himself in his house when he is upset! He doesn’t blame other people! And when you tell him he could improve, HE SAYS “I sure can!”It isn’t normal! Tim Tebow is a weirdo!”

WOW GUYS! This is how we are all to act! Tim Tebow, is someone I look up too. I shall keep him in my prayers. This is what the world should think of us as Christians! It is all over the Bible!

So this article in the WSJ about what Tim Tebow couldn’t do, showed me what Tim Tebow CAN do, through Christ Jesus. And it is the most beautiful thing on this earth. So I ask my fellow brethren to join me to pray for this young soldier in the faith and to strive to join him in this battle.

SPIRIT. Something about this movie always got my heart pounding and my hand thumping as I watched Spirit race down the mountain with a train sliding behind him. As a child I watched it anytime I could. After a while I discovered new movies and didn’t watch it as much. For too long it has been in our movie closet without my attention. Whenever I looked at it I would think “Its a good movie, but so is Amazing Grace.” As it is, when my little brother put it on this evening I found myself glued to the TV.

Now why am I writing this? For two reasons:

1. To educate you and tell you about an amazing movie that shouldn’t be discarded on your Friday movie night.

2. This movie doesn’t have good animation, but boy does it have amazing characters. One of the things I love about it is that fact that Spirit (the main horse) has so much, well, spirit! He risks his life for other horses freedom, and ultimately, his own. If only we as Christians had that much resolve to save those around us! But any way, the second reason is to point out (if you do watch it) there are some pretty awesome messages in there.

SPIRIT, Stallion of the Cimarron. An amazing movie.

How many times do we have something we want, and it just doesn’t work out? There are many examples in my life. But every time it doesn’t work out, I look back later and think “I’m sure glad that didn’t happen.” We find that God’s Will is best all over the Bible, and there is no questioning God knows what is BEST. But God seems to never know what we WANT. So we think. There is a funny saying that I always laugh at when my plans don’t work out “We plan, God laughs.” I don’t know how many times I’ve planned and Apol. party and it never actually worked out. “BUT GOD! We are learning about YOU! Don’t you want us to study Your Word?” Is what I would say. But somehow I always knew He laughed.

This time was no different. Tuesday evening, since no one was home, my mother, little brother and I weren’t doing to much. We had just finished The Incredibles when it started to rain really hard. I skipped outside and played in the thunder storm. Then Maddie called me and asked if she could walk over because “Her parents were making her get exercise” Sure enough I saw Maddie walking this way around 7:30 PM and AH! I thought I saw Mr. Clay with her! So I quickly changed out of my red dress up gown. (It never is good to wear those when your friends dad is coming over, or they might not let your friend come over again. ) When I opened the door though, there stood Maddie, but also Jesse and Arleah Talbbot! I was pretty excited and we chatted in our living room till Mr. Clay came and picked them up.

It made me think. Would I have been able to see them if I was in San Antonio? The answer, of course, was no.

How amazing is God’s Will? And I remind myself, even if it isn’t what we WANT, it is what we NEED.

THANK GOD WE DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT WE WANT!

1. Cupcakes in a bag: Don’t bother, but you can give me duck tongues in a bag.

2. I’ve tried lamb once. That’s all it took, I would rather eat my sister’s dirt salad.

3. Lobster: Please, just hand over the slab of fat!

4. Oysters are not on my radar, but you can feed me dandelion leaves from your yard.

5. Clams: Ok, so that cinnamon stick is sounding more appealing.

6. Hot dogs from Sonic, never brought myself to it, but I’ll eat twenty licorice jellybeans at once.

7. The beef patty at Chick-Fil-A is yet to capture me, but I will eat a whole rotten water melon.

8. I could just never eat jello, but I have eaten frozen yogurt (Not the ice-cream kind, just plain frozen yogurt.)

9.  I detest Sunkiss, to get out of drinking it you can make me drink a Dr. Pepper in 23 seconds. (painful)

10. I couldn’t think of anything else I wouldn’t be up to eat, but I’m sure there is something!

While I am adventurous in my food career, there are just some American dishes I don’t like. Offer some strange food and I will be the first to jump on it!

But we differed on opinion so I wrote my own.

#1o He must not mind living in Nye Montana.

#9 He should never get upset when it takes me three times to bake a cake right.

#8 He can’t complain about my lectures on health and he can not point out that I eat it any way.

#7 He has to be strong enough to carry my books around Half Price Books for me. (Which means he has to be pretty strong)

#6 He must let me buy him clothes (He has to wear them.)

#5 He can’t kill insects unless they bite.

#4 He has to be okay with me yelling advise to characters in movies.

#3 He has to like listening to soundtracks.

#2 He has to like football, but he shouldn’t laugh at me when I yell “THEY GOT A GOAL!”

#1  He should listen patiently when I tell him about an exciting “new” verse I found that he has known for a long time.

A small bit of beauty.

That I’d rather not brand,

With this worlds cunning cruelty.

No prying eyes,

No slipping tongue,

Will ever make me reveal,

That of which I have sung.

This bit of wonder,

This speck of perfection,

Will never slumber,

And will never undergo infection.

It’s a bit unreal,

But it is quite surreal,

and in its own way,

wants, in its turn, to deal.

But there is one condition,

To owning this wonder,

There will be no transition,

Away from thunder.

I gladly agreed,

Not knowing how hard,

It is to succeed,

Without playing a card.

My small bit of reality,

Isn’t so real,

And my one thought of sanity,

Is explicitly surreal.

I am going to briefly run you through my experience and show you a few pictures and maybe give you a brief understanding of the awesome time we had!

TOURING! The 11th-the 13th We toured Boston with the Welches. (The Clays were with us the first couple of days)

It was my first time flying and the whole thing was rather exciting. Especially landing in Boston! We ate at Quincy Market that night and got ice cream cones and over all just acted rather silly and all very excited.

The next day we went touring! We had bought trolley passes for the two days we were there and so we rode around and learned ALL about Boston!

My favorite part was the USS Constitution. I fell in love the moment I saw it.            

I really wish it wasn't docked. :-/

It was epic. We met up with the Clarksons after the Clays left us.

Monday came and so did our last day of touring. We did several things successfully:

Got tired at the train station.

Met a chef

Ate Mike's Cannolis.

So Monday was fun. We checked in to our dorms that night and hung out with friends.

Tuesday was a BLAST! Even though I had already toured Boston three days in a row I was ready to do it all again with my friends! So we did! This day was a blast! But I sadly couldn’t upload those pictures. A few bullet points would be…..

1. I bought a bag of tea and dumped it into the Boston Harbor.

2. Got so hungry I bought a Strawberry milkshake and shared it with all the girls in the car.

3. redid my hair over fifty times (Yes I did count. )

4. Laughed a GREAT deal.

The tourney itself was pretty exciting. Every day was unique and had different highlights.

  I did break in Pers., as did Maddie!

Over all the tourney was awesome. And if I remembered more I would post it.

At the end I was sad but happy. Ready to see  my family and ready for MT that was around the corner.
